Gorges of Kyrgyz Republic were shaped by rivers that carved their way through mountain peaks, glaciers and coniferous forests. Therefore, it is in the gorges that you can admire the extraordinary mountain landscapes, lakes and waterfalls and snow-white peaks.
The most famous gorge in Kyrgyzstan is Ala-Archa. It is located near Bishkek, which is why it is popular among tourists. The Ala-Archa gorge is huge in size: here you can go for picnics on the banks of a picturesque river, go trekking, rock climbing and mountaineering.
Gorges on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul are also considered one of the largest and most beautiful gorges in Kyrgyzstan: the Semenovskoye Gorge (Kyrchyn) and the Grigoryevskoye Gorge (Chon Ak-Suu). Here is the sweet smell of pines, green mountain slopes, the sound of mountain rivers and high mountain lakes.
The Chychkan Gorge in the Jalal-Abad region is another unique place that attracts nature lovers from all over the world. There are unique original landscapes, a hunting reserve where roe deer, wild boars and other animals live, and fish farms are located along the banks of the Chychkan River, which flows along the bottom of the gorge.
